The AEHI Story

Hi!

I'm Amy. I'm a doc at Advanced Eye Hospital and Institute.

We are a multi-specialty Eye Hospital located in Navi Mumbai, India. I don't mean to brag, but we are one of the most advanced eye hospitals in Maharashtra. (Okay, that did seem like bragging... oh well, I did try!) 

So why am I so unabashedly proud of ourselves, that I don't mind coming across as proud as a peacock ? Why don't you have a look yourself ?

This is our hospital... Ain't it pretty?

So here's our story... After having spent quite a few years in the field of eye care...we saw how traumatic an experience it can be for a patient. 

Let's take the case of Mr Samuel who had recently noticed that he couldn't see as clearly as earlier. He realized how annoying it could be, having to go around seeing everything as if you were in a fog. Unfortunately, rub your eyes as much as you want, the fog just wouldn't clear! Mr Samuel was filled with a mixture of annoyance at the inconvenience along with a small nagging worry if he would go blind. He sighed as he sought out an appointment with his Optometrist. And that was the beginning of his harrowing journey from getting himself tested, to being handed a diagnosis of cataract, to seeking out a Cataract surgeon to getting himself evaluated further, to undergoing surgery, to picking out new glasses... phew! you can imagine how draining it must have been emotionally, physically and financially!

Mr Samuel's story is not an uncommon one. We realized that apart from the stress the disease causes, the solution is equally stressful! What if there were a place where all this could come to Mr Samuel instead of him going from pillar to post? It would ease so much pain! After all, isn't that what doctors are supposed to do?

And that is what motivated us to set up an eye hospital where not only would you find a solution to all your eye problems, but also a patient ear.
